The corrections are essays, blog posts, jottings, or little scraps of thought. They are never finalised. They are always there to be edited.
The stuff is just links to stuff. I look at a lot of stuff and like to share stuff that I’ve looked at, so this makes that easy for me to manage, since now I can just point people to all my stuff at once. Don’t worry, friends: you will still receive targeted stuff recommendations.
onomastics
The name of the site, trellis, comes from the final stanza of the Keats poem “Ode to Psyche”:
A rosy sanctuary will I dress
With the wreath’d trellis of a working brain
While I am not straightforwardly a lover of the Romantics, I am more than sympathetic to the sentiment in the final section of that poem. My lack of fondness for rosy tones afforded me an excuse to avoid an overly literal styling of the page.
The name corrections comes from the great Thomas Bernhard novel Correction, a sort of roman-à-clef about the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. There are many great novels about Wittgenstein, but that is probably the best of them.
Alas, even I cannot confabulate any such grand origin story for stuff.
